I now feel part of a beautiful community I didn’t know was so big. One of odd, charming and supportive one man bands.
I watched 21 bands (out of 52) in 4 days, performed to a packed room and was overwhelmed to share the stage with so much talent.
What a great way to officially launch my album, to a crowd of listening, dancing, smiling people.
Thank you One Man Band Festival for putting me on the bill amongst such inspiring solo artists.
Being alone on stage made me feel vulnerable and strong.
Thank you Chersea (who plays delicious pop music, looping a million instruments including trumpet), Bird Radio (gothic, powerful heart wrenching, flute-playing traveller) Jenny Omnichord (endearing singer with a rare and hypnotic instrument), Jon Cohen (insanity you can dance to), Robert, Pamela (best sound person ever), family, friends, room-mate and audience.
Some other highlights for me were Thomas Truax (Eerie, beautiful songs using instruments he invented himself)
André Daneau (techno-like, awe-inducing, Québecois foot-stomping with harmonica)
Lederhosen Lucil (adorable, fun, synth-playing German) and Wax Mannequin (intense darkness)
