You’ve been pretty good to me this past year. Like an old friend who can be a little shady, but you still accept me and all my peculiarities.
You’ve told me things like, “Take your time, be creative, play a bunch of shows.” And I have. You’ve helped get my old pals and my two brothers in a band with me and you’ve even got my own mother to support my musical ambitions (something I deemed impossible!)
There have been a few hiccups on the way, like that time the generator crapped out on us in the middle of our set and made our voices sound like robots. Or that time we had to play a little past curfew and the janitor was sweeping up the place while we performed. But every show we’ve played has been packed- if not full- of awesome people!
I’m so grateful, Montreal. You’ve helped me feel alive again.
I just have one small favour to ask of you. See, we booked a show at a pretty big place called Alizé. We had to shell out a fair bit of cash from our own pockets to rent the space. So please, Montreal, can you help us pack the place?
We don’t have a promoter to help us. We’re doing it all ourselves. I’ve designed our own poster and we’re sticking it up everywhere. We found two incredible openers, C.H.U.C.K. and X-WAM and we’re all gonna put on an amazing show, I promise.
So, if you could just get people to share the event, invite their friends, bring everyone to the show, I know we’ll all have the time of our lives. Isn’t that what you’re all about, Montreal?
Here are the details:
Xania & The Potholes (Hip Hop, Folk, Tap-dance)
C.H.U.C.K. (NDG Hip Hop)
X-WAM (Beat-box Champion)
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH
Alizé (900 Ontario Est)

If you do this for me, I’ll try not to ask anymore favours of you.
